Rick to Lead Workshop on “Legal/Regulatory Issues in Sports Nutrition” on October 9th
Rick Collins is heading to SupplySide West in Las Vegas, where he will be addressing the critical legal issues surrounding sports nutrition at a special Sports Nutrition Workshop taking place on Friday, October 9th . Rick’s presentation “Legal/Regulatory Issues in Sports Nutrition” is part of a comprehensive workshop featuring a number of top experts in the sports nutrition market, including Dr. Douglas Kalman, co-founder of the International Society of Sports Nutrition, Dr. David Sandler, and Dr. Chris Lockwood.
The three-hour workshop — “Sports Nutrition: From Science to Shelf” — will be taking place on Friday, October 9th from 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at SupplySide West at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. The workshop will provide practical information and insight from these top experts in different areas of the sports nutrition arena about how to achieve success, and avoid pitfalls, in the growing and complex sports nutrition market.
Rick’s presentation at the workshop, which takes place at 10:10 a.m., will present the many legal and regulatory issues involved in the sports nutrition market, and will discuss many of today’s “hot topics” in this area. In addition to providing a history of important legal/regulatory issues surrounding sports nutrition products, Rick will also address and provide insight into today’s most critical issues surrounding sports nutrition and the law, including protein spiking class action lawsuits, steroid contamination and DASCA, DSHEA issues and legal issues surrounding claims for sports nutrition products. In addition, he will also be addressing GMP compliance and meeting today’s legal standards in sports nutrition.
Rick will be joining CMG Supplement Counsel attorneys Alan Feldstein and Bob Danko at SupplySide West, which is the largest gathering of ingredient suppliers and buyers. More than 13,000 industry professionals are expected to be at this year’s expo and conference, which will be addressing the most important issues facing the dietary supplement industry today.
