Rick’s presentation, “Today’s Top Regulatory Considerations for the Sports Nutrition Industry”, will be held on Wednesday, January 23rd. The presentation will examine today’s regulatory environment and offer insight into how companies can comply with various regulatory requirements vital for the success of today’s sports nutrition companies.
During the presentation, Rick will discuss ingredient compliance and what constitutes compliant/non-compliant ingredients – addressing the legal aspects of both what is in the bottle (surrounding ingredients/New Dietary Ingredients and NDI notifications), as well as what is on the bottle (addressing regulatory requirements for sports nutrition labeling compliance.) The presentation will also provide insight into the growing presence, and impact, of CBD oil in the sports nutrition market and possible benefit as a recovery supplement – providing insight into current FDA regulations surrounding CBD oil and sports nutrition supplements – as well as address the recent passage of the 2018 Farm Bill in December and what the passage of this new law means for CBD supplements. Other topics Rick will be addressing include the growing issue of SARMs (including a review of legal issues surrounding Ostarine) and the latest information about the SARMs Control Act – as well as a look at legal issues surrounding DMAA and other fat burners/stimulants.
Rick is a Fellow of the International Society of Sports Nutrition (ISSN) and a member of the ISSN Advisory Board and ISSN Legal Advisor.
