Philip Nash is an associate attorney at Collins Gann McCloskey & Barry PLLC, concentrating his practice in the areas of dietary supplement law and criminal defense. Phil focuses his work within the dietary supplement industry on label reviews, claims reviews, website reviews and FDA and FTC compliance. He regularly advises clients regarding the expanding market of Cannabidiol (CBD) and hemp oil.
Prior to joining Collins Gann McCloskey & Barry, Phil spent more than three years as a Nassau County Assistant District Attorney, where he prosecuted over a thousand felony and misdemeanor cases and was formerly assigned to high litigation specialty courtrooms devoted to DWI offenses. Phil is an experienced litigator, having tried multiple jury and bench trials, and has conducted numerous pretrial suppression hearings. Before joining the District Attorney’s office, he also served as a summer associate at a Long Island medical malpractice law firm, and as a General Litigation Bureau intern at the Office of the Nassau County Attorney. He has served as a Special Professor of Law at Hofstra Law School since August 2015, where he teaches trial advocacy skills and techniques in preparation for interscholastic mock trial competitions.
Phil received his undergraduate degree from American University in Washington, D.C. A cum laude graduate of Hofstra Law School, Phil served as an Associate Editor of the Hofstra Law Review and President of the Hofstra Trial Advocacy Association. He was admitted to the New York State Bar in January 2014, admitted federally to the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York in 2016 and is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Nassau County Bar Association and the Criminal Courts Bar Association.
