Jonathan Manfre (Jay) is an associate attorney at Collins Gann McCloskey & Barry PLLC. He graduated from New York Law School in June 2015, and joined CGMB in August 2017.
Jay handles the daily needs of the firm’s dietary supplement, sport nutrition and conventional food clients, and has extensive experience in the area of FDA and FTC regulations that apply to these industries. He is also well versed in the legal and regulatory landscape of Cannabidiol (CBD) and hemp oil. He regularly reviews clients’ labels, websites and marketing for compliance and provides legal counsel in a wide variety of areas surrounding the supplement industry. He is an active member of the Nassau County Bar Association’s New Lawyers Section and the New York State Bar Association’s Food, Drug and Cosmetic Law Section.
While at New York Law School, he served as a member of the New York Law School Law Review. In addition, he was a John Marshall Harlan Scholar, an Affiliate for the Center for Business and Financial Law, a member of the Dean’s Leadership Counsel, and a staff writer for the Center for New York City Law.
Prior to joining Collins Gann McCloskey & Barry PLLC, Jay was an Associate at Suris & Associates, PC, in Melville. At Suris & Associates he was responsible for handling all aspects of Personal Injury matters from the start of the case through litigation, including discovery, depositions, and motion practice.
A longtime consumer of dietary supplements who has been engulfed in the health and fitness arena for many years, Jay has valuable experience in the dietary/sports nutrition industry and is very knowledgeable when it comes to effects and function of these supplements. He has presented on the topic of dietary supplement law at professional and industry meetings, and has been published in Natural Products Insider on a number of topics surrounding dietary supplements and the law.
