Shannon Montgomery serves as Of Counsel to Collins Gann McCloskey & Barry PLLC, concentrating in the areas of intellectual property protection and business law. Shannon focuses her work on building and protecting brand intellectual property and helping clients with their contract needs, and provides experienced legal counsel to clients in the areas of copyrighting and trademarks, in addition to business advice, contracts and licensing agreements.
Shannon, who in addition to her law career is a competitive powerlifter and bodybuilder, has a longstanding commitment to, and passion for, health and fitness. A competitor in NPC figure and bikini events who has won 3 titles and participated in more than 10 competitions, she brings a unique combination of legal expertise paired with strong understanding and experience in the health and fitness industry to her role as Of Counsel to the firm. Since 2018 she has been in solo practice working with social media influencers and businesses in the health and wellness industry, where she has the extreme honor of helping her clients understand vendor contracts, sponsorship agreements, foundational business basics, and intellectual property. She has provided insight for fitness brands and creative companies on how to ensure their brands are protected.
Prior to founding her own firm Shannon began her legal career as an associate attorney with a firm in West Palm Beach, Florida where she had the privilege to act as Managing Counsel for one of the largest mortgage servicing companies in the country. She has more recently spent time representing corporate clients and serving their litigation needs across the state of Florida.
Shannon received her undergraduate degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL, and her law degree from Stetson University College of Law in St. Petersburg, FL. She was admitted to the Florida State Bar in 2013 and the California State Bar in 2018. She is a member of the Florida State Bar Association, the California State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the American Intellectual Property Law Association.
